Description
The McGuffey Art Center Is An Artists' Cooperative Which Is Located In An Old Elementary School Building In The Historic District Of Downtown Charlottesville, Virginia. The Center Includes 3 Galleries, A Gift Shop, And Studio Space For 40 Resident Artists, All Of Which Are Open To The Public. The Center Also Has Approximately 60 Associate Members, Each Of Whom May Exhibit In The Galleries.Public Outreach Programs Are Provided In The Form Of Educational Tours Of The Studios, Classes, And Various Presentations And Demonstrations Which Are Given By The Resident Artists Outside The Center, Such As In Schools Throughout The Region.The McGuffey Art Center Is Open To The Public From 10 A.m Until 5 P.m. Tuesday Through Saturday, And From Noon Until 5 P.m. On Sundays.
