Description
The Hawk Recreation Area is just west of the ridge of Great North Mountain in West Virginia. It consists of 15 family-sized campsites, 2 group campsites, and a separate picnic area. All campsites are first come first served. There is a hiking trail that leads east to the ridge of Great North Mountain, with views to the east, and also leads west into a hemlock gorge. Other trails and forest roads are nearby. This is an unattended campground.
