Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park
Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Wilderness, and Spotsylvania - more than 85,000 men wounded; 15,000 killed. No place more vividly reflects the Civil War's tragic cost, in all its forms. These places reveal the trials of a community and nation at war.
The Basics
Hours:
The hours of operation vary from season to season and from building to building. The park is closed on New Years Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Otherwise the park grounds are open from dawn to dusk on a daily basis.
Spring hours began on April 1 and run through June 7. Summer hours and programs begin on June 8. More information will be available on summer hours and programs at a later date.

Climate
The weather is usually warm and humid in the summer. Generally the nicest weather is in the fall with occasional tropical storms in the late summer and early fall. Winters are generally cool with occasional snow and ice storms, but also some beautifully nice days. Spring weather is inconsistent. Early spring can be cool and wet with late spring being warm and humid intermixed with beautiful days.
Sunken Road Walking Tours begins at the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center at 11:15, 1:15, 2:15 and 3:15. They last 35 minutes.
Wounding of Stonewall Jackson Walking Tours begin at the Chancellorsville Visitor Center at 11:15, 1:15, 2:15 and 3:15. They last 35 minutes.
No Turning Back Walking Tours begin at the Wilderness Exhibit Shelter at 11:00 and 2:00.
Bloody Angle Walking Tours begin at Spotsylvania's Bloody Angle at 1:00 and 4:00.
The summer season begins on June 8. Walking tours will be given daily on all four battlefields and there will be in an increase in the number of tours at Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville. Also see special events page for additional programs.
