Description
Fort Washington has stood assilent sentry defending the United States capital, for over 180 years. As technologies advanced so did Fort Washington. Fort Washington is one of the few remaining Seacoast Forts in its original designs.
Hours:
The Visitor Center and Historic Fort are open daily.
The first Sunday in April through the last Saturday in October the buildings are open 9:00-5:00. The rest of the year they close at 4:30.
The park grounds are open 8:00-sunset at all times.

Basic Directions
From Washington DC, take Capital Beltway (I-495) to Exit 3 (Indian Head Highway or MD210), at traffic light at end of exit, turn left (MD210 South) and continue for approximately 4 miles to Fort Washington Road, turn right, follow the road to the park entrance.
